Welcome to Armenian America! We are glad you are here.
Armenian America is a newspaper focusing on Armenian-American justice issues and culture by Armenian-American Action Network, founded in 2021. We are excited to provide a platform for debate, creativity, and expression on the issues facing the Armenian-American community today from a social justice perspective.
Submissions are on a rolling basis. Unless we are doing a special edition, we are always taking submissions.
What does Armenian America publish?
Armenian America accepts submissions of Essays, Op-Eds, Art, Poetry, & Prose. Submissions strongly encouraged on topics of fighting anti-Armenian racism, and issues of identity, social and global justice, immigrant rights, refugee rights, and civil rights, and their intersections. All are welcome to submit.
How to Submit
Submit your work by emailing us at submissions@armenianactionnetwork.org for consideration. Attach your submission in either Word document or Google Drive formats only. Include your full name, a 3-4 sentence bio in third person that includes your Armenian identity, where you are based, and a headshot photo to be included along with your work.
Guidelines for Submission
Essays and Op-Eds
Up to 3,000 words per submission.
Poetry
Up to 4 poems per submission.
Art
Up to 2 works per submission.
If your work is published here first, you may submit elsewhere. Please let us know by email if your work will appear in another publication.
Community Guidelines
Submissions will not be published that target a group, in whole or in part on the basis of—sex, race, class, ability, immigration status, etc. Armenian America reserves the right to publish or not publish any submissions. Armenian America also does not allow hate, harassment, or hate speech on our platform pages, in order to protect our readership and offer a safe environment of engagement.
